Beyond developing great tasting nitro coffee, the Voodoo Brew brand is the perfect combination of playful and premium – they take their coffee seriously. Voodoo Brew's cold brew is slow-steeped for a super smooth taste they've infused it with nitrogen for a naturally sweet flavour and cascading, velvety crema.

Voodoo Brew is a single origin wholesale coffee roaster that focuses on sourcing the finest coffee from around the world. I worked with Voodoo Brew to create a new visual identity for their premium almond milk iced coffee 'Nitro" as well as packaging and interactive design.
The market category was dominated by old brands with a strong market presence and brand recognition, but packaged in a very outdated styling, as well as newer offerings from recognised coffee global coffee chains. Our solution was to capitalise on the product’s distinctive, surprising name and employ a “less is more” packaging design strategy that relied not just on beautiful typography, but a strong character. It was important that the packaging for Voodoo Brew Nitro demonstrates how a solid brand identity system can add a uniform, recognisable, identity to a range of branded products.
The new design expression allows variants to make a clearer visual connection with one another as a portfolio through purpose and specialisation, while continuing to distinguish itself from the over-saturation of today’s craft-heavy aesthetic. The bright colouring and playful design creative sit perfectly against a stark white background. It’s a unique look. The lesson here, is just because your competitors are doing something, you shouldn’t be afraid to break the mould and try something completely different.
